After having harvested enough gold...

After having acquired a good quantity of native gold (at least 5 kg) obtained by the exploitation of mines or/and  by the purchasing gold from independent local miners against an invoice, the so-called NATIONAL MINERALS AGENCY GOLD EXPORTERS PURCHASE VOUCHER, which  contains the license numbers of two parties.

One copy of this invoice is given to the seller and the other to the buyer. As for the 3rd copy, it is handed over for all necessary controls to the Central Bank and customs and then for the gold export.

Export formalities in accordance with the requirements of the Central Bank

The lots are prepared and identified after fixing the purity degree of the native gold. This is to determine the taxes payable  to the State for the gold export:

  • customs taxes
  • INPS taxes
  • the Ministry of Mines taxes
  • the Central Bank taxes

Once having payed all these taxes, the export papers are made simultaneously.

Export in the form of accompanied baggage to our Swiss subsidiary

Packages are ready for the export. A final formality is to be completed at the international airport with the Customs and the Representative of the Ministry of Mines.

Note: for security purposes Orpall company always travels with its goods in the form of accompanied baggage with a special derogation from two different airline companies serving Sierra Leone. We can transport 10kg per person. Transportation by private air carrier is also possible.
